After a long wait, Rick and Morty season 5 is finally here! While Rick and Morty has some solid main characters, the show also does a great job of creating hilarious side characters. We ranked some of our favorite side characters that we’d like to see in the make a comeback in the new season.
Mr.Poopybutthole
While he most likely will have a comeback as a fan favorite, Mr.Poopybutthole is one of the funniest recurring characters in the show. First appearing in season 2, Mr.Poopybutthole comes in clutch to help Rick, Morty and the whole family from an alien parasite. He seems to be a good friend of Rick as well which is a rare occurrence.
Birdperson
Birdperson has an amazing history in the show. He is now Phoenixperson due to being killed by Tammy, a member of the Galactic Federation secret service and is also an enemy of Rick’s.
Squanchy
Squanchy is famous for one thing, saying various versions of the word “squanch.” He actually officiates Birdperson’s and Tammy’s wedding and helps defend Rick when all goes wrong. Many fans theories are wondering what happened to Squanchy and there’s hope that we’ll see him in season 5.
Abradolf Lincler
One of Rick’s insane creations, a combination of Abraham Lincoln and Adolf Hitler to create the ultimate super leader. Lincler ends up sacrificing himself for crystals that Rick snorts at a party. Since Lincler is a creation of Rick’s there’s reason to believe he can be brought back by him again.
Butter Robot
Butter Robot is the most adorable invention that Rick has created. A small device created for one purpose, to pass butter, and has a slight existential crisis about it. It’s extremely minor character as it only appears in two scenes, but it would be nice to see Butter Robot with more of a purpose later in the show.
