This week has been huge in the gaming world. With E3 still ahead, the Summer Game Fest dropped some awesome “world premieres.” Here are a few of the biggest announcements from the event.
Elden Ring
From the mind of director Hidetaka Miyazaki (also director of the Souls games) and George R.R. Martin, Elden Ring has been hugely anticipated since its first announcement. Bandai finally released a full on gameplay reveal and it’s looking pretty dang awesome!
Death Stranding Director’s Cut
A director’s cut video game?! That’s definitely a first. The most odd thing about this trailer is the amount of Metal Gear Solid references. Is it really a “director’s cut” with some additional game mechanics or a cryptic message about a Metal Gear reboot? What could it mean? ?
Back 4 Blood
This is a big one! The team behind Left 4 Dead is back with an all new zombie survival game. They showed a little peak of the gameplay and teased an open beta coming in August for players who pre-order a copy.
Evil Dead: The Game
Another gameplay reveal that came as a surprise was Evil Dead: The Game. The game has both a co-operative where players will take on the role of characters from the film. It also has a PvP mode with the choice of being a hero or a demon. What really sells it is Bruce Campbell’s collaboration and voice acting featured in the game.
House of Ashes
Supermassive Games developed another entry in the Dark Pictures series. The story has quite a different setting from their previous games. The plot centers around a military unit in Iraq in their search from nuclear weapons but it fails to go as planned.
Among Us “Roadmap”
“Roadmap” is a big update for Among Us. It includes a new “Hide and Seek mode, cosmetic and role updates, and a brand new map.
Jurassic World Evolution 2
This was a huge and exciting surprise reveal! The first Jurassic World Evolution was a great simulator but had a few things lacking like aquatic dinosaurs. But it looks like Frontier Development will be adding new maps and dinos!
Chivalry 2
Move over For Honor, Chivalry II is coming through. The gameplay in this looks absolutely nuts and it’s crossplay! ?
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
This is an interesting one. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a new Borderlands spin-off with a crazy cast of actors including Will Arnett and Andy Samberg. It looks very in line with the art style and humor of Borderlands.
Metal Slug Tactics
Dotemu dropped a trailer for the upcoming Metal Slug Tactics game. The gameplay is described as a “dynamic tactical RPG with roguelike elements!” There’s no official release date for this one but judging by the gameplay it looks far into development.
