Gaming: Two Creepy-Scary Multiplayer Horror Games to Get Into QUICK!

March 21st, 2019 Candice Shane Features, Gaming, Video

One of my favorite things to do once the weather starts to warm up is get my pals together for video games! Well, not just any games but the scary, spooky kinds! Good thing games like Last Year: The Nightmare and The Blackout Club are HERE! Want to know more?

Now, I made sure to include two different levels of scary here for you guys. While Last Year is far more gore-jumpscare-fear stuff, kinda like Friday the 13th: The Video Game – The Blackout Club is a far smoother and less intense ride. There’s something for everybody in these two games, I promise.

Last Year: The Nightmare – Elastic Games

Now, I’ve played quite a bit of Last Year: The Nightmare at this point and I can absolutely say that first-person is the way we should be taking the scary multiplayer genre for sure. The graphics are flat out gorgeous yet stylized and every move is so fluid and fun. You can invite your pals and then leave the game open to see if more folks fill in. You can vote for who gets to be the Killer among the lot of you, much like how it works in a few other horror-esque titles out there. The one thing I love about Last Year is the fact you have to work with your fellow players to do objectives before making your escape. It’s not just about one objective and then bolting out or just comprising items before escaping – it’s a far more interesting scenario taking place in your High School. It just makes it fun, dark and the giggles are always right there. Get a good team together and you can play this game for hours without an adrenaline drop, for sure.

The Blackout Club – Question Games

Now, I’m just recently diving into this title (thanks a lot, bedrest – you ruin everything) over on PC and I absolutely love it. See, The Blackout Club has some rad Stranger Things vibes about it and actually replaces the jumpy horror stuff for mystery with a backstory. It seems as if some weird stuff has been going on in the neighborhood and you and the other young teens in the area are tired of everyone getting brainwashed. Slowly but surely, they find out there’s a group behind all of the sleepwalking and trouble. It ain’t as easy as just “There’s a bad guy – get away from them” and I dig that. There’s mysterious things you have to uncover and with the help of your friends, co-op style, maybe you can get through it! The Blackout Club is still in Early Access on PC and will eventually go full-release with far more maps, objectives, items and more. I do know that it will be coming to console once it leaves Early Access and I know it’s going to be a summertime breakout smash for sure. Get into it, friends.

And there you go! These two games are available now in early forms, for sure. If you have Discord, Last Year: The Nightmare is available via their platform as a Discord First kind of gaming title. Discord releasing games? I know, right? It’s crazy but it actually works really well and especially if you’re playing with your Discord pals. The Blackout Club is in Early Access on Steam for now but has an estimated full release of the game sometime this spring which will just unlock even more awesome times.

Snatch up these games ASAP but make sure you grab your friends and keep those lights on! Let me know what you think and get ready for the craziness because you’ll have adrenaline for days! Just stay away from the dark corners, friends!
