Tuesday Trivia: Test Your Knowledge Of 90’s Movies

July 30th, 2019 Candice Shane Lists & Things, Loot Crate DX, Loot Wear, Tuesday Trivia

There were so many amazing popcorn pictures in the 90’s and it was hard to dig into the trivia of an entire decade! So, I nabbed some from the most notorious of films in the 90’s so we could have fun. How many of these 90’s movie tidbits do you already know?

1. Jim Carrey wanted to shave a question mark into his hairline for the role of The Riddler in 1995’s Batman Forever, but had a divorce hearing and his lawyers pleaded with him to not do something so drastic to his hair.

2. During the production of Fight Club, Brad Pitt visited a dentist to get the cap removed on one of his front teeth so he’d look more authentic to the scrapping Tyler Durden.

3. When Sandra Bullock filmed Speed in 1994, she had to take a test to prove she could drive a bus for some of the scenes. Not only did she crush it, but she nailed the bus driving test on the first try. That’s one more reason Keanu trusted her to stay above 50!

(20th Century Fox/Disney)

4. Speaking of Speed, Keanu Reeves initially shot down the script stating that it was just a bit too akin to Die Hard for him to take it on. However, when the Director changed to Jan de Bont and from Graham Yost to Joss Whedon as the lead writer — he said yes upon reading the first draft.

5. It should be of no surprise that a certain four letter expletive is used 265 times within the runtime of Pulp Fiction.

6. Michael Crichton stated that John Hammond from Jurassic Park was always envisioned to give the impression of Walt Disney but on a darker path.

(NBC Universal)

7. There was such faith based on the treatment from publishers that Universal Pictures paid Michael Crichton for Jurassic Park’s rights for a script before the book was even published. Listen, Universal knew we wanted them dinosaurs!

8. Bruce Willis’ role in Pulp Fiction took only 18 days to film but it’s rumored that the shorter role was due to his interest in other upcoming projects keeping him distracted.

9. Terminator 2: Judgment Day was the first film to win an Academy Award as a sequel when the first film in the series wasn’t even nominated. This would eventually happen with The Bourne Ultimatum and Mad Max: Fury Road which are both sequels that the previous installments weren’t seen as Academy films.

(Studio Canal)

10. The length of production for Terminator 2 was problematic from the first week, but one issue they never saw happening was the obvious aging of Edward Furlong who was younger when filming started. Audio had to be dubbed in and changed in post to reflect his same voice and tone from earlier in the film. Thirteen is a wacky age, you know?
