Tuesday Trivia: Master Your Intel of ‘Assassin’s Creed’!

July 18th, 2017 Candice Shane Gaming, Lists & Things, Tuesday Trivia

It won’t take an Animus to get into Assassin’s Creed, heck, most of us have already been there! However, for those who may only dabble in the world of Ubisoft’s historical spy-thriller, we thought we’d pull together some trivia from not just the games but also the movie! Are you a fan? If you weren’t before, you will be now!

1. Desmond Miles, who is the protagnist of the first game (Assassin’s Creed), was a bartender before diving into the world of Altaïr. Interestingly enough, they’re both 26 at the time their worlds connected.

2. In Arabic, Altaïr’s first name means “Flying one” or “Bird of Prey” while his last name, ibn La-Ahad, translates to “Son of No One“.

3. Connor, from Assassin’s Creed 3, is the first in the series (to that point) whose name is not connected to the Eagle. While it is the third in the series numerically, it’s actually the fifth in the continuity.

4. Edward Kenway, the protagonist from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag (and my favorite), is actually Connor Kenway’s grandfather. Trust me, if you’ve played both games — you find that link to be incredibly interesting.

5. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is actually the first game to put players into a first-person scenario dealing with Abstergo Industries, a game company set on utilizing Animus technology for themselves. Is this innocent? Who can say? Go play it!

6. You curious about Black Flag’s Edward Kenway? Well, his voice actor is Matt Ryan who went on to play the live-action and animated television role of Constantine!

7. In your cubicle at Abstergo Industries, during Black Flag, you find the books Assassin’s Creed: The Fall and Assassin’s Creed III: Forsaken which are written by Oliver Browden. Interesting note there is that those books actually exist in real life, continuing the saga of the Assassins.

8. In the Assassin’s Creed film, Michael Fassbender and his co-star Ariane Labed did 95% of their physical stunts. Talk about some dedication that only comes from those of the Creed!

9. It was important to Justin Kurzel, who directed the Assassin’s Creed film, to not depict either the Assassins or the Templars as good or bad. To him, both had ideologies that could make them the heroes or the villains and he wanted the audience to come to their own interpretations on who the ‘good guys’ were.

10. Assassin’s Creed was actually not Michael Fassbender’s first go into video game franchises. In fact, he voiced King Logan in Fable 3!

So, how many of those did you already know? Make sure you dive into more Assassin’s Creed with July’s Loot Gaming BOOTY Crate and live in the world of Edward Kenway while he sails the seven seas! You’ve got until the 27th of July to get your hands on that Crate or it will be to the briny depth with you! See you on the shore, Looters!
