Tuesday Trivia: Even MORE Spider-Man Trivia!

June 25th, 2019 Candice Shane Tuesday Trivia, Video

There’s decades upon decades of Spider-Man trivia, thanks to it being one of the most popular comics of all time. Want to learn more about our favorite web-slinger? We knew you would, so let’s get right into it!

1. Neil Patrick Harris voiced the college-age Peter Parker in the CGI Spider-Man: The New Animated Series in 2003. Barney Stinson would approve.

2. There is a British version of Spider-Man comics simply called Spider-UK. This Spider-Suit wearing hero is William Braddock and he’s seen all sorts of worlds and realities. He’s definitely no teen from Brooklyn.

3. Tobey Maguire was 27 years old when he took on the high school aged Peter Parker. Weird move, but it happens. Thankfully, it gave Tom Holland the opportunity to match up Peter’s teenage origin story.

(Marvel Comics)

4. If you look about for names of shops and graffiti in some of the earlier Spider-Man films, you’ll find that the names of the businesses and such are names of original and current artists for the Spider-Man comics. What a nice little reference to those who gave us a friendly neighborhood Spider-Fella!

5. Spider-Man, via comic books, films and video games, is still the most profitable superhero around. Adjusted for inflation even, the numbers show that there hasn’t been a decade that Spider-Man properties didn’t sell above others.

6. While everyone enjoys the romance between Mary Jane and Peter Parker, sometimes sad things go down like a comic book story arc in which radiation means that Peter exposed Mary Jane and the poor woman ended up with terminal cancer. The dangers of the job, in Marvel fashion, make sure to bring the tears for sure.

(Disney/Marvel Animation)

7. There is absolutely zero mention of Uncle Ben in the current Spider-Man films in the MCU. Will that change with Spider-Man: Far From Home? No clue!

8. In the Infinity Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is stated that the whole series closes not with Avengers: Endgame but with Spider-Man: Far From Home. WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? Dangit, Kevin Feige!

9. Peter’s parents often don’t get talked about in the films or video games, but in the comics they actually worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. and died serving the cause. You’d say heroism was in his blood.

(Marvel Studios)

10. Spider-Man: The New Animated Series features a college-age Peter Parker despite the fact it was supposed to be an animated series following him in high school. But the Spider-Man MCU film was popular and they wanted to encourage the series to take off from the setting of the movie.

I’m sure I could even dig up more for a third Trivia series with how much awesome facts out there! Once you’ve ripped through these, check out the upcoming Loot Crate, Loot Crate DX and Loot Wear with the JOURNEY theme and get a Spider-Man EXCLUSIVE in all three! Don’t worry, Aunt May will dust around your new treasures.
