This isn’t that kinda game you play when you want a feel-good happy-fun adventure. This game isn’t for the weak. Far Cry 5 is Ubisoft’s latest installment in the intensely popular Far Cry series and it takes place not part of a breathtaking scenic local like you’d expect.
Instead of the peaks of a beautiful mountain-filled country or the oceanic seaside tourist-spot-gone-wrong, Far Cry 5 takes place in the fictional town of Hope County, Montana. A congregation turned militaristic doomsday cult is rising up and it’s up to the Sheriff’s deputy to start working towards investigating it and taking it down before the town gets swallowed up in the insanity. The game’s trailers lean in deep to the charisma of its villain, Father Joseph Seed, and some of these additional trailers give you even more of a glimpse into that world.
This behind-the-scenes with Ubisoft’s Far Cry 5 team and the actor who plays Joseph Seed, Greg Bryk, give a hint more light into the darkness that surrounds these charismatic yet deadly figures that can lead well-intentioned people into the wrong side of morality and, ultimately, humanity.
Ubisoft wasn’t kidding around with the videos that would get players ready to take on the future of Hope County and have made sure you get to watch Bryk’s magnanimous portrayal of its villain. I mean, that’s pretty much what this game series is about: the villains.
