Do you know how many X-Men movies are rocking the same continuity because there’s a lot. Let’s dive into some little juicy X-Men movie tidbits to see just how excited we can get for the upcoming Dark Phoenix film! How much do you know?
1. The director of X-Men: First Class, Matthew Vaughn, wanted to see the typical accents that the characters in the earlier X-Men films to be done away with for the prequel-strong movie series. This means that James McAvoy, who wanted to pick up Sir Patrick Stewart’s accent, was told to promptly throw that idea away and go clean with his accent choice.
2. An interesting aspect to casting Evan Peters as Quicksilver was that eventually Marvel proper would be casting a different actor in the same role for the Avengers movies. Now, I doubt they knew eventually the two companies would merge into one — but think of those alternate timelines. There’s a timeline where Pietro is still boppin’ around. Huh!
3. Halle Berry was supposed to have a significantly larger role in X-Men: Days of Future Past but it had to be shortened due to her pregnancy at the time. So, for all those trying to figure out why Storm was backseating so much, that’s your reason. Storm was busy brewin’ up a little thundercloud of her own!

4. It wouldn’t be until 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse that James McAvoy would officially shave his head for the role of Charles Xavier. He stated he had been wanting to do it for the longest time, but he was vetoed until Apocalypse.
5. Hugh Jackman prepared for his role of Wolverine in the first X-Men film by taking a cold shower every single morning before shooting. He would try to suffocate the shock to his system by gritting his teeth together and tensing his muscles, thus helping him know what pose and mode to go into whenever Logan turned the Wolverine on full blast.
6. Matthew Vaughn cited James Bond, Star Trek: The Original Series and and Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins as inspirations behind the tone of X-Men: First Class.

7. James Marsden claimed it was incredibly challenging to play the role of Cyclops as any acting that came from his eyes was essentially halted for him as his eyes remained behind an opaque visor through the majority of the original X-Men films.
8. Two pretty rad actors were considered to take on the role of Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse that would’ve been pretty insane to see. Both Idris Elba and Tom Hardy had been thought to take on the rather heavy role but it ended up in the very capable hands of Oscar Isaac instead!
9. Kelsey Grammar wanted that role of Beast in such a bad, bad way. Because of this, he agreed to his first audition in twenty years. That is some dedication!

10. It took quite a bit of convincing to get Ellen Page to commit to playing Kitty Pryde in X-Men: The Last Stand. Her role in Hard Candy was what originally lead producers to seek her out but she had turned it down three times before finally coming in to read for the part.
