In June, there are tons of great titles available to stream – some of which sync great with the franchises we are spotlighting this month! It’s our latest roundup to compliment your loot when it arrives. Get in touch with your ALTER-EGO, and check out these recommendations!:
Spider-Man
Sadly, most of the Sony-produced Spider-Man films to date are not currently available to stream on the main outlets for free. (Most of them you can rent from Amazon or Vudu!) We’ve also been waiting in vain for Netflix to bring the classic 60’s Spidey cartoon back again, however for the time being Hulu has you covered with the pretty terrific mid-90’s Spider-Man cartoon which appeared as a fun follow-up for fans of the X-Men series on Fox. We’re still not sure why the theme song’s lyrics are sung through a talk box like an old Peter Frampton tune, but it was a good show! Hulu’s also got Spider-Man Unlimited to stream now if you’re hankering for more web-slinging.
Transformers
One of these days, man… one of these days someone’s going to decide to let us have 1986’s Transformers: The Movie on a streaming service and we’re going to watch it until we’re blue in the face! (More than we’ve worn out our DVD of it, even!) Unfortunately that time is not now, and while that – plus the multiple recent live-action Transformers flicks – are only available to rent, you can stream Transformers Prime and Transformers Rescue Bots to your hearts content on Netflix. The animation in the former is pretty spectactular, and the latter is definitely a fun watch if you’ve got little ones to share with.
The Hulk
When it’s time to go green, this month your Loot-streaming choices begin and end right here: On Hulu with the first real hit of Marvel’s live-action history, The Incredible Hulk! We sang the praises of the Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno-starrer last month as part of our round-up of stuff that shared Star Wars’s 40th anniversary; while the mystery-of-the-week format and mid-range special effects take it out of what we traditionally think of nowadays as superhero fare, it’s still a landmark series and a real staple of childhood for many of us.
DC Universe
So, if there’s one thing that we’re not lacking this month for streaming goodness, it’s tons of DC fare! On Netflix alone, you can take your pick from so much: All of The CW’s DC Universe shows are available to stream now, including recent season adds such as Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl if you need to catch up over the summer. Also, if you’re still mourning the loss of the great Adam West, there’s no better time to spool up the 1966 Batman feature film again! Without question, though, the top choice and our pick of the month is Young Justice, the absolutely terrific animated series following the adventures of teenage wonders Robin, Kid Flash, Miss Martian, Superboy, Artemis and Aqualad. Following a dedicated fan effort to bring more of the show to screens, Season 3 of the series was recently greenlit and will arrive in 2018, so now is the perfect time to catch up on the first two seasons; dig in!
