Gaze through the spyglass and see what went into creating this month’s theme video for Investigate!
The theme for this month was ‘Investigate’, so it only makes sense for us to examine what went on behind the scenes of our latest theme video!

Since the short had such an eerie feel and mostly took place at night, it may surprise you to learn that we actually shot a good chunk of our nighttime shots during the day. Our go-to Director of Photography, Pierce Cook, did a killer job creating the illusion. Additionally, not only was the shot of our Sheriff (DeMorge Brown) shot during the day, but the truck was stationary. We had multiple crew members positioned around it to shake the bumper to give it the appearance of driving down a bumpy road.

The script also called for mysterious marks. Though we were shooting at the already heavily graffitied Old Griffith Park Zoo, we weren’t allowed to leave any more marks on the area. The Art Department did a phenomenal job creating “scorched-in” markings that were completely temporary. …They were a challenge to get off though.
