It’s easy to sometimes forget the crazy voices and sounds from cartoons that shape how we hear our beloved favorites for years to come! For this week’s Friday Five, we’re revisiting our youth for ORIGINS and letting nostalgia have at our weekends!
A 1980’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Reunion!?
Video: Andre “Black Nerd”
Not a bad time to listen to the four voices of your favorite Mutant Teenage Ninjas getting to have some over at Nickelodeon Studios! Makes you wonder just what kind of fun these guys had back in the eighties, doesn’t it? I mean, we can all list our favorites but everyone dug on Donatello the most, right?
Troy Baker as Superman in Infinite Crisis!?
Video: DC Entertainment
Weird, you mean Troy Baker does voice acting? I had no idea. I’m kidding, obviously this guy is the new Nolan North when it comes to “HIS VOICE IS LITERALLY EVERYWHERE!” nowadays but I had no clue he was Superman in Infinite Crisis! Sure, this isn’t old school but it will be one day. How cool!
Batman… Where are your Bat-Pants?
Video: Dustin Newell
Listen, full-disclosure, I laughed at this for about sixteen minutes straight. Why? Because I’m childish and also because you guys DO remember how silly those old Scooby Doo episodes were with Batman, right? It’s too good. Also, let’s not forget — that is our Adam West as Batman!
Spock gettin’ back to his roots!
Video: CBS
I could’ve probably picked a thousand clips from this show and all would’ve been good, but this clip of Leonard Nimoy voicing his character Spock from the Star Trek: Animated Series, makes me incredibly happy. I wanted it to make you guys happy too.
That Transformers Commercials NONE of us forgot!
Video: WRFB79
That thumbnail is haunting, for sure, but check out all the insanely wacky 80’s nostalgia to be found in those old Transformers commercials! What is it about the decades we grew up in that we just couldn’t escape how campy they once were! The clothes, the hair, the zany voices. It’s all too wonderful!
