When I initially sat down and scheduled my articles for April, this was a day, and a piece, I was very excited to write about, because it was after the opening weekend of one of the most anticipated games of this year, and a game that fans have been waiting years for: God of War. I knew I was going to have several uninterrupted hours as I ventured through Kratos’ new Norse setting, and I was going to have so many of my favorite moments and aspects of the game to talk about.
Well, launch day came last Friday and you’ll never guess… But I got the flu! I spent the entire weekend on bed rest and had absolutely no time at all to play games, which is the worst kind of sick day: You’re at home, on the weekend, and you’re too sick and tired to even enjoy some video games! It was a shame, to be sure, and because of that I wasn’t able to get the deep dive into God of War that I had hoped for. I plan on playing it a great deal over the coming weeks, but instead of sharing my thoughts and feelings on the game (for what it’s worth, the two hours I’ve played so far have been amazing!), I decided to share some of the coolest videos and screenshots I’ve seen of this gorgeous game so far (all as spoiler-free as possible!). Enjoy the stunning views and vistas, as this new God of War might be one of the most beautiful games I have ever seen!
First up, I wanted to share a review video from one of my favorite gaming YouTubers, Skill Up. Now, this is a pretty lengthy video, coming in just under 20 minutes, but it’s a tremendous overview of the game’s mechanics and an honest-to-goodness spoiler free breakdown of this incredible game.
