If you’re looking for a chill, relaxing time, this isn’t the game for you. BUT if you want to feel like the biggest bad*ss in the galaxy, go buy DOOM Eternal right now.

DOOM Eternal came out last Friday, 3/20/2020, and WOW, it’s intense. Everything about this game is designed to make you feel POWERFUL and STRESSED. My heart-rate doubled just watching other people play this game.

As anxious as I am playing it, DOOM Eternal is a SUCH a well-balanced shooter. It’s a game that tests its players and challenges their skills, but won’t punish them for trying to enjoy it. One great way DOOM does this is the difficulty settings.
You can switch to a different difficulty setting at any point in the game, even mid-stage. It kept me from getting rage-quit level frustrated (the names are great too – I’m Too Young to Die, Hurt Me Plenty, Ultra Violence, and Nightmare). I think there’s something about being ABLE to change the difficulty, or add armor, that makes me WANT to do better. It’s less frustrating when it’s MY choice rather than the game forcing me.

What can I say, it’s just fun. DOOM brings new life to the standard FPS’ formula with new enemy mechanics, a little bit of parkour, and real fun guns. I mean, check this gun out. It’s HUGE.
