There isn’t a year that has gone by that I haven’t dipped back into Diablo 3 for a few months. Why if you’ve already beaten it? Well, there’s also Season play and so many unlockables in pets and such that you can gather! Want to know more?
I recently made sure, now that my daughter is deeply into gaming, that she would have to get into some Diablo 3 on PlayStation 4. Figuring it would be easiest for a console gamer to tinker with, I knew it was a fantastic port and enjoyed it immensely there and everywhere else I could. Setting her up, we quickly got through the main story, which was impressive because I started her in on Hard in order to take advantage of the experience gain. Once we beat it though, she wondered what else was there. Adventure Mode expands the game further but then comes the Seasonal play that offers quite a bit more content and special set pieces for your characters. She was already in awe over that, but then, well, I mentioned there were pets and cosmetic wings to find.
And hell, I haven’t even gotten her into the Rainbow Goblins and taken her to the magical Whimsyshire area which will wreck anyone’s life if they’re not extensively overpowered. During this, I set her up with some videos to give her some ideas on what it’s going to take for us to seek out some pets and wings. Collecting these things was my favorite thing to do on PC and while I remembered some of them, there were a few I had forgotten the steps for. Well, I figured you guys may want to crack open Diablo 3 again and give those extras a go — so I thought I’d share those same videos with you.
Now, I know this is about Pets and Wings — but Whimsyshire is pretty important as well for those who want to dip into the secret bits beyond the story. Force Gaming does a pretty rad job of explaining Whimsyshire and just how to get into the area without breaking your neck seeking information!
Here, PWilhelm gives you tips on what builds work fast for covering a lot of ground on the maps to seek out the best spawn points for Pet Goblins. My Crusader with the Warhorse can cover quick ground and with a really intense cooldown, I can zip about pretty quickly. You are going to want a character that can cover ground quickly or this could get super tedious for you. Good news though, once you unlock them on one character, they’re collected for every character you play.
Here, Rhykker details things in such a step-by-step manner that it’s almost impossible to not be successful if you listen to his directions. He provides not only his own experiences but also fact tables and charts that he’s pulled together to show the rates of efficiency and success. Trust me, he’s helped me greatly and if you’re wanting to find not just Pet Goblins but also Rainbow Goblins — this is where to check.
Here, The Inhuman One teaches us how to get the Falcon Wings — which are one of the most incredible wing sets in the game. Sure, there are quite a handful of rad wings — including the Cosmic wings, but let’s keep to something a hint easier, right? Honestly, I can’t wait to get these in my PlayStation 4 game and wow the kid with how large and majestic these bad boys are.
Now, there are SO many different types of pets, wings, frames and such to farm that you could literally spend weeks doing it and have a blast. Make sure you check out some awesome Discord ‘Looking for Group’ servers and also ones where folks will come help you farm ones they may already know about. The one thing I love about the Diablo community is how quick people are to come to the aid of someone else when that pesky drop just isn’t getting there. Make friends! Spend time researching! Honestly, that’s the one major take away that I gave my kid — it’s that sometimes the best stuff in video games is the stuff you have to find all for yourself.
