With December’s Loot Gaming crate, we’re taking this OFFWORLD with some rad franchises like Halo, Mass Effect, and Gears of War. But we’re also throwing it back old school with an item from one of the OG space-related video games, and that’s, of course, the arcade classic, Galaga!
Launched in 1981 by Namco and published in the US by Midway, Galaga is a crown jewel of the golden age of arcade games and is frequently included in top 100 lists for the best games of all-time for its quality, but this nostalgic masterpiece is also one of the most commercially successful video games of that era, too. I was wanting to get my hands on a video of some kind to give all you whippersnappers out there that may not know about the splendor that is Galaga, and as it turns out a relatively small YouTbue channel called Free Play Arcade did a great short on the history of Galaga – give it a look!
