It’s about gosh darn time we got ourselves a new Star Wars adventure game on the horizon! And the folks at Respawn Entertainment, riding the wave of success following Apex Legends legendary launch, is coming to save the day with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order!
Fallen Order takes place after the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and sees us in the role of Cal Kestis, one of the last surviving Jedi following the purge of Order 66. Cal is still only a Padawan, and seeks to complete his Jedi training while avoiding and evading the Empire and their Inquisitors. The game is a single-player action-adventure that will thrust us into a dark and deadly chapter of the Jedi universe, one where we will develop and hone our skills with the Force, learn to effectively use our trusty lightsaber, and much more in an attempt to survive at all costs and return the Jedi to their former glory.
Not too much else is known about the game, but Respawn did comment on the fact that Fallen Order was developed and designed with “gameplay as the top priority”, going on to say: “Players will use their Jedi training to create different melee combinations with an innovative lightsaber combat system and Force abilities.” It’s been a good long while since we’ve had a solid Star Wars gaming experience, at least a single player one, and much of the gaming side of the Star Wars universe has been mired in a decent bit of conflict in recent years. Will Fallen Order bring us back to our former Jedi glory? Only time will tell – and fortunately for us, we won’t need to wait long since the game will be coming out during this holiday season, on November 15th!
