The Alter Ego theme is all about celebrating secret identities, inner heroes, and extra personalities. And this inspired us for June’s Spotify playlist on our Loot Crate channel!
We’ve included “Where is My Mind” by The Pixies, famously used in the ending of Fight Club after a certain character discovers and comes to terms with his personality disorder. “Ziggy Stardust” was a natural choice, Ziggy being a fictional space rockstar invented by David Bowie. “You Know My Name” doesn’t have an obvious connection to the theme, but it’s from a James Bond film and espionage is sometimes indirectly related to alter egos – mostly, we wanted to celebrate Chris Cornell this month, and this song is incredibly fun.
“Janus” by Matt Kivel is a quiet folk song; you may have already guessed this one, but we included it because Janus was a Roman God often depicted with two faces. “The Touch” by Stan Bush is a CLASSIC from the 80’s animated Transformers movie, and the auto-alter-egos of the Autobots and Decepticons are in several of our crates this month!
