I know we all thought we’d be ringing in the new year with a lot of exciting plans and celebration, but truthfully speaking, we are still very much in the state of a worldwide pandemic. BUT HEY… at least we have video games to keep us entertained and optimistic! It turns out that 2021 is actually a really big year for milestone game anniversaries.
Here is a list of BIG game anniversaries coming up in 2021. Is your favorite franchise on the list?
The Legend of Zelda – 35 Years
The Legend of Zelda was first released for the Famicom in Japan on February 21, 1986.
Pokémon – 25 Years
Pokémon (Pocket Monsters JP) Red and Blue were first released in Japan on February 27, 1996.
Resident Evil – 25 Years
Resident Evil was first released for the Playstation in Japan on March 22, 1996.
Sonic The Hedgehog – 20 Years
Sonic The Hedgehog Classic was first released for the Sega Genesis in the US on June 23, 1991.
Metroid – 35 Years
Metroid was first released for the Famicom in Japan on August 6, 1986.
Persona – 25 Years
Revelations: Persona was first released for the Playstation in Japan on September 20, 1996.
Skyrim – 10 Years
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was first released in the US on November 11, 2011.
Halo – 20 Years
Halo: Combat Evolved was first released for the Xbox in the US on November 15, 2001.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to all of these AMAZING games that we still love and cherish to this day! I am definitely looking forward to seeing how each game company will celebrate these big days! Also, Looters… you guys should absolutely keep an eye out on our crates this year because we may have a couple tricks up our sleeve to celebrate 🙂
