WARNING SPOILERS!!!
We have chosen some of our favorite anime fight scenes from the last few decades to share with you. Awesome anime fights free from the limits of budget, safety, and the laws of physics are one of the big draws for the medium of anime. Coming up with a top 5 was challenging, simply because there’s so much amazing action animation out there. Not everyone’s favorites will have made the list, but hopefully it will remind you of some the greatest moments of anime ass-kicking or maybe even introduce you to some anime battle scenes that you need in your life right now.
5. Sasuke Uchiha Vs. Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto Shippuden)
There is a reason this all time favorite fight scene has held its place in its world of best anime fights. Who hasn’t heard of this classic fight? Naruto has sported a rivalry since the very beginning, a rivalry that suggested to viewers the series wouldn’t end without a serious showdown between these two powerful ninjas. The animation and choreography combine to form fight-scene magic and it is definitely one to be watched. 4. Edward Elric Vs. Father (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood)
Another favorite is the fight between Father and Edward Elric. Seeing that Father is a formidable villain who has become too powerful for his own good, we always enjoy watching his loss to Edward. Even though Alchemy is involved in the fight, Edward ultimately defeats Father with his bare hands. Edward relies on his humanity to defeat an enemy who tried to surpass the confines of earthly existence. Which is exactly what Ed does when he tries to resurrect his mother. More than anything, this fight reaffirms the power of human resilience.
3. Nanashi Vs. Luo-Lang (Sword of the Stranger)
Where other series take their fights to cosmic scales of absolute insanity, Sword of the Stranger captivates with how it makes a realistic and grounded clash of steel feel realistic. Both men master swordsmen in their own way, the action never ceases once it begins, with slashes, stabs, and counters flying out like machine gun fire. It’s an indication to how impressive a properly animated fight can look, and still stands as one of the most gorgeous battles ever animated even a decade later.Even though it’s not as flashy as some of the other fights on our list, still one of our all time faves.
