Do you run out of events to wear your cosplays to? Do you want to dress like your favorite character today, but can’t cosplay at work or school? If so, casual cosplay is the way to go! Casual cosplay has various interpretations and rules depending on who you speak to, but basically, it’s just dressing up like a pop-culture character using everyday items you can wear anywhere.
Because we think everyone should try it once, we put together casual cosplay outfits based on Loot Wear’s ORIGINS themes!
First up is the man of steel himself, Superman. These are two outfits based on our favorite Kryptonian’s iconic outfit. We’ve presented both ladies’ and mens’ outfits. The themes are simple: All you need is red and blue clothing with subtle Superman imagery, such has his famous S symbol, and you’re set. A pair of Clark Kent glasses won’t hurt, either.
Next is Mario. We have two outfits here: One a more casual and comfortable version, the other is a slightly dressier look. The boots are inspired by Mario’s own koopa-stomping boots, and the red heels are reminiscent of the super mushrooms that give Mario a Power-Up.
The last outfit inspiration is based on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. All you really need for a TMNT casual cosplay is a couple of shades of green and a bandana in the color of your favorite turtle. We’ve chosen a purse here that reminds us of a turtle shell, and some fin-green eye makeup. A pizza phone cover completes your hero-in-a-half-shell outfit!
