Some of my favorite online friendship moments were created in the video game lobby. Why, you ask?
The lobby is a place where inside jokes are born. It’s a place where we say hello and catch up on life and the things we missed while we were away. It’s a place where we say our goodbyes until we meet again. With a lot of my online friendships, some of those lobby goodbyes were many, many years ago. Although I miss those friends, I’ll never forget the memories we shared in game, in lobby, and in voice chat.
For those reasons, I love video game lobbies– they signify all of the wonderful online friendships that I’ve cultivated over several years of gaming.
