Listen, folks. It’s a rough world out there once the fallout occurs. Sure, you may think that you’ve got this on check and, it’s not like you’re new here. However, what if I told you that you can just take care of it with one simple word: FUDGE. Let me show you how to get the most out of your Fallout 4 game-time!
The word you need to remember is FUDGE! FUDGE stands for Food, Utilities, Defense, Gear and Experience! Jot it down in the case to your game, etch it onto a sign in your Sanctuary. The point is — don’t you dare forget or you’re going to be screaming ‘FUDGE!‘ when you die to some random raiders or a misbegotten Deathclaw.
1. F = Farming (Food, Supplies & More)
In this video, WikiGameGuides gives you a detailed rundown of how you can quickly get your food farmed and all of your delicious supplies ready to go for you, your settlement and the benefit of glorious Sanctuary. This is the most important part of FUDGE for the beginning of the game and will help you make sure that nobody’s going hungry or without supplies while you roam the wasteland.
2. U = Utilities (Water, Power and Supplies Needed for Both!)
Here LunarGaming shows you how to set up a pretty intense water purifier and wind farm that can power your entire settlement. Not a bad thing to have when those precious parts are hard to come by. 3. D = Defense (Settlement Defensive Structures)
This awesome chap, CursingWithCurtis, gives a pretty good rundown on what his defensive structures look like over at Starlight Drive. Now, this means making sure you’ve used the first two bits of FUDGE to prepare proper farming and utilities to really level up the land usage there, but it can be done! 4. G = Gear (Armor and Weapons)
It’s obvious from second one that you’re going to need to have some protection be it through armor or a pretty little gun to shoot your way through some drama. 5. E = Experience (Get Them PERKS!)
Sure, making sure your people are fitted up, that they can eat and drink and stay protected in your settlement is key — but a proper Vault survivor has to stay alive!
