Tuesday Trivia: Test Your Knowledge About ‘Rick and Morty’!

June 27th, 2017 Candice Shane Exclusives, Loot Crate DX, Tuesday Trivia

If you haven’t yet noticed with Rick and Morty, we’re super-fans over here at Loot Crate. We’re so excited to have an exclusive in this month’s crate, so let’s see how much you *burp* know about our intrepid heroes.

1. Rick’s catchphrase ‘Wubba lubba dub dub!’ isn’t just a cute and fun thing that Rick blurts out during his adventures. In fact, it’s from the language of the Birdperson and it means ‘Help me. I am in great pain.’ which we find out in the “Ricksy Business” episode.

2. Schmeckles. You know, that form of currency from the Giant Dimension? If you actually break it down, a Schmeckle is hovering around $150 USD. When the waitress says how much her, ahem, plastic surgery costs — she says it’s 25 Schmeckles. What does that add up to? Nearly four thousand dollars in USD!

3. It takes a freshly squeezed Fleeb to make a Plumbus.

4. Rick and Morty are actual parallels to Doc and Marty from Back to the Future. The concept draws on the idea of an older scientist dragging a rather typical teenager around on adventures of scientific drama. While Doc was definitely a bit peculiar, he certainly wasn’t ever seen as a apathetic drunk. Justin Roiland was really into this dynamic and had actually adapted the characters from his short The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti before settling into Rick and Morty.

5. That ‘scientific drama’ I mentioned before? Rick’s really into it. In fact, he completely decimated Miniverse and Teenyverse simply to keep control over the Microverse. Microverse powered his ship and that ship, to Rick, is worth the genocide.

6. Tiny Rick was not a clone whatsoever. He was just a younger Rick body that was given Rick’s current subconscious. The problem was, Rick’s mind dealing with Tiny Rick’s angst and hormones was enough to drive him insane. Er, uh, more insane, that is.

7. Rick is the only character in the show to never be seen wearing a seatbelt. Just a little subtle reminder that he really doesn’t care whatsoever about what happens to him.

8. Surprising as it is, it has been suggested that Rick and Morty takes place in the same universe as Gravity Falls, a completely different show that airs on the Disney Channel. We have yet to see any truly compelling evidence but we’d love to hear it!

9. Cronenbergs actually refer to David Cronenberg, who originated a genre of films that have horrifically morphed and creepy bodies. Not sure what that means? Go check out Scanners, Videodrome or Naked Lunch. You may know him from The Fly and then you’re going to realize that Cronenbergs were REALLY aptly named.

10. Nobody actually knows what a Plumbus does.

Now that you’re completely entrenched in the chaotic yet lovable universe that Justin Roiland created, check out July’s ANIMATION Loot Crate and Loot Crate DX for an absolutely bonkers exclusive from Rick and Morty! You won’t be sad about it, dog!
