This morning, EA came to the table with their update special: EA Play Live. Here’s a look at the breaking news they revealed.
Grid Legends
This was the world premiere of the new Codemasters game. On top of gameplay excellence and immersive racing, the development team has stepped it up with new locations and new modes, including Elimination Mode and an enhanced Story Mode. The game’s underdog tale introduces plenty of new, compelling characters, groundbreaking technology, and some familiar actors, such as Ncuti Effiong from Netflix’s hit series, Sex Education. Check out the game trailer now!
APEX Legends
Perhaps one of the most anticipated games (according to the live chat) is the next in the APEX series. While APEX Legends™ Emergence won’t be available until August 22nd, and the gameplay trailer coming next week, the team still had plenty to reveal about the upcoming year. Emergence will continue developing its arena feature, featuring ranked arenas as well. We also got a deeper look into the new character, Seer. Like Bloodhound, he’s a tracker with a unique ability kit, but his emphasis appears to be in stealth. Slow down your gameplay, and your capabilities could open up to a whole new realm of possibilities.
Battlefield 2042
Battlefield was by far the most hyped up game in EA Play Live’s lineup – and they didn’t disappoint! The development team has so much lined up for the next year that really sounds incredible. On top of the base game, and the debut of Hazard Zone mode later this year, Battlefield 2042 will also feature Portal mode: a highly customizable game experience that pulls weapons, vehicles, and maps from all the previous Battlefield games. Have WWII soldiers go up against modern technology, or modern soldiers face the masses of their predecessors. Portal is a community driven experience that will give players access to logic software that, previously, only the development team has had access to! Check it out!
Dead Space
Months of suspicions and rumors finally confirmed! While EA play live didn’t give too many details about the Dead Space revival, they did leave us hanging with an intense trailer with some developed graphics. Long hallways, lurking monsters, and a chilling soundtrack left fans in the chat more hyped than ever! We’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled for more sneak peeks…
EA also teased details around two of their original games, including the second season of Knock Out City—Fight at the Movies—and the highly anticipated Lost in Random.
