I think we can all agree that Fallout has some really stylish music choices. The first time I played Fallout 3 and heard “I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire” by The Ink Spots in the opening sequence, I’m not gonna lie… I shed a few tears. There’s just something about that 40’s radio sound that tugs on my heart strings. Now, it’s probably because I am a jazz drummer and played A LOT of jazz music for many years as I was growing up (15 years, to be exact), but music from this era gives me Anemoia, which means nostalgia for a time you’ve never known. I’m definitely an old soul.
With that said, this week, I wanted to share some of my favorite artists and songs that spark the feeling of anemoia and remind me of scavenging through the Wasteland. Feel free to put on this playlist while you’re exploring the Capital Wasteland, cooking, cleaning, or just straight up chilling. Enjoy!
