July and August are weird times for shows to start but streaming services generally don’t play by anyone else’s rules what with shorter seasons and a lack of ratings details. Good thing that’s the case because we don’t have to wait until September for The Boys from Amazon! Based on the comic series by Garth Ennis, The Boys touches on a group of lesser known superhumans (not quite heroes yet) that take notice of how the Superheroes are corrupted and causing problems. Looks like the underdogs may just have to take down the big dogs!
Starring Karl Urban of Dredd, Lord of the Rings and Chronicles of Riddick fame as well as Chace Crawford who we last notably saw as a snooty good-boy in Gossip Girl, we can sense a lot is going to go down if those are just two of its stars! As a comic fan and a Garth Ennis reader, I can’t wait to see this series kick off!
