There are your typical TV classics for the holidays and while the Star Wars Holiday Special is one of mine and my family’s faves, there are far more fun and bizarre entries in the history of yuletide telly. I’m going to share one of my more obscure favorites in the way of game-show icon Paul Lynde’s‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’ from 1977.

Trust me, watching that Paul Lynde special is one thing, as he rattles around a house full of children and his lovely wife played by Anne Meara (Ben Stiller’s actual Mom) while not being the most chipper about the holiday.
