Just in case you live under a rock, INUYASHA IS GETTING A SEQUEL and I am here. for. it. Really though, Viz Media confirmed that Rumiko Takahashi’s Inuyasha Franchise is inspiring a new anime spinoff titled Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon (Hanyo No Yashahime). Honestly, I have never been so excited for anything more in my 21 years of life.

If you are anything like me you probably grew up watching InuYasha on Cartoon Network every week and it became a vital part of your childhood. It gave me unrealistic expectations on what men are supposed to look like, especially the half dog/half human hybrids. Anyways, Viz has described the brand new anime from the Inuyasha universe as so:
The daughters of Sesshomaru and Inuyasha set out on a journey transcending time!In Feudal Japan, Half-Demon twins Towa and Setsuna are separated from each other during a forest fire. While desperately searching for her younger sister, Towa wanders into a mysterious tunnel that sends her into present-day Japan, where she is found and raised by Kagome Higurashi’s brother, Sota, and his family.Ten years later, the tunnel that connects the two eras has reopened, allowing Towa to be reunited with Setsuna, who is now a Demon Slayer working for Kohaku. But to Towa’s shock, Setsuna appears to have lost all memories of her older sister.Joined by Moroha, the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome, the three young women travel between the two eras on an adventure to regain their missing past.

Does anyone get some serious Boruto vibes from this? There is something truly amazing (and crazy) about anime sequels that focus not on the main characters, whose stories are completed, but rather on their children. What is it like growing up with legendary adventurers who saved the world or, perhaps, bungled it up being huge dorks about it? Such was the case for Boruto, the sequel to Naruto. We all know Boruto and how the anime community has perceived him. Let’s just hope for the best when it comes to the InuYasha Sequel.
ANOTHER absolutely insane aspect of Yashahime: Princess half-Demon is that we have NO IDEA who the mother is of Sesshomaru’s two daughters. I meannnnnnnnnnnnn…. we kinda have an idea but wouldn’t that be weird? Or maybe not weird at all? I have no idea, I mean Bella and Edward did it and we all loved Twilight! Should I be disappointed if Rin never truly foind her path next to Sesshomaru? I DON’T KNOW GUYS (lowkey ship it though)

There are so many things I could go on and on about when it comes to this (hopefully) beautiful InuYasha sequel. All I can really do now is hope to goodness it doesn’t suck and prepare my wallet for soon-to-come Yashahime merch.
