Stranded on an icy space-tundra, Carl and Denny must protect their precious cargo from the likes of all kinds of bad-guys, including Space Pirates!
To get to the core of how the GUARDIANS video was made, I asked director/co-writer Jamie Parslow what the inspiration was behind it.
On writing Guardians:
“Guardians started with a simple concept about a year ago when I was listening to the song “Clean Elvis” by Dan Reeder. I’m a major fan of taking something traditional like fight scenes, and mixing it with something unconventional like folk music. Often times, it sets a sort of surreal tone that either sticks in your mind later on, or defines an entire moment. I find great entertainment in juxtaposing traditional elements with non-traditional formats, and so when I pitched this idea and it was accepted, I was elated.”

“So, Stephen Kramer Glickman – a great comedic writer and awesome talent – and myself got together and collaborated between one another to get us to that moment. We had a few challenges before us. Namely that we didn’t have any sort of cast in mind when creating this, and that we were also supposed to create some integration between Loot Crate and the short.”

“Needless to say, it was a nearly painless process writing and coordinating with one another, and because Stephen and myself see so eye-to-eye when it comes to comedy; we had something we were really excited about when all was said and done. It was a blast to film, to edit, and to conceptualize, and I couldn’t be happier to share it with everyone.”
