Skull Island. I have dreamed of seeing this place with my own eyes since I first began researching the myth. Now that I am breathing its air, witnessing its wonders, and facing its terrors, I guess it’s true what they say: “Be careful what you wish for.”
We had just begun surveying the island when a massive creature—a gargantuan primate—suddenly rose up to face our helicopter squadron. What had we awakened? I only caught glimpses of it but, even as I sit in terrified contemplation, I am giddy. I managed to shoot some 16mm footage. I pray the film inside my camera survives. This was a magnificent specimen, a living mountain of muscle and rage.
30 years. 30 years of my life in pursuit of proof that monsters exist…and now I have it!
